Would you like to be a part of a project team developing the products for energizing the future vehicles?
We are looking for an Mechanical engineer for our products for alternative fuels and electric vehicles. You will be a part of a global team that together will design and implement new solutions for electric vehicle charges, Bio-LNG and CNG dispensers and hydrogen dispensers.
Position Summary
You will be responsible of mechanical design, verification and implementation as well as belonging technical specifications and documentation, for your areas of the solution. Those areas will mainly be related to charging cable retraction and management system, and cooling systems for electric vehicle charges. You will be based in Austin, Texas, US, but the position can involve travel to other DFS sites worldwide.
Position Responsibilities
- Mechanical design develop, 3D CAD modelling, e.g. exterior parts, internal structural parts and charging cable cooling and cable management.
- Research and evaluate available components/systems on markets and specify a customized solutions.
- Assemble prototype components and modules for verification in our lab
- Define test methods, verify the design accordingly and thereafter analyze the result
- Write technical documentation such as requirement and test specifications, and test reports
- Make design ready for release and implementation in production line
Candidate Experience and Qualification
- BS in an engineering discipline (preferably mechanical engineering)
- 3+ years working experience in similar position with preferred but not required experience in following areas is
- Cooling solutions, heat exchangers
- Fabricated and formed sheet metal parts
- Injection molded plastic and elastomeric parts
- Machined aluminum, steel and plastic parts
- Fluid handling systems
- Experience working with EV chargers and its standards is a strong merit
- Knowledge with cooling systems, especially with regards to EV chargers is a strong merit
- Proficiency in CAD system, preferably SolidWorks
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working in experimental shops
- Experience working on cross-functional design teams
