The Sr CIRT Engineer, Cybersecurity role working in the Digital Security Organization will be responsible for monitoring, assessing, and responding to information security events in a large diverse enterprise environment. The best candidate for the role should have a strong comprehension of digital forensics & Incident Response, work well with others and have strong verbal and written communication skills. This position correlates security related data across the enterprise, performs the Security Incident Response Handling lifecycle from preparation to identification, containment, eradication, recovery/remediation, and lessons learned, while also establishing relationships with impacted business owners to assist them in strengthening their hygiene by cultivating a better understanding and implementation of security aspects into their services. Inherently, the candidate must have some knowledge of system security design and network security best practices. Analytical and organizational skills, and the ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team are required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Leads security, compliance, and risk assessments on projects throughout project lifecycle
- Improves process efficiency by creating and implementing creative and sustainable changes to existing deployment methodologies.
- Leads the identification of security needs & recommends plans/resolutions.
- Implements, tests & monitors info security improvements
- Maintains visibility inside & outside of information security at the People management level.
- Interfaces with groups such as application support, engineering ops, finance, privacy, risk management, etc.
- Leads information security policy lifecycle throughout, including intake, creation, review, approval, implementation, publishing, communication & maintenance
- Executes security projects driven by groups both internal and external to info security
- Mentors peers and junior team members in security technologies, enterprise solution design and facilitation and effective customer interaction
- Experience with implementation of various threat modeling approaches pertaining to one or more of the following STRIDE, PASTA, TRIKE, ATTACK TREE, DREAD, KILL CHAIN, CAPEC, Mobile Application threat model, Cyber Threat Tree, and data flow diagram
- Subject matter expert in multiple facets of network & information security, including Firewall policy design, SSL Certificate management, vulnerability analysis & mitigation, and other topics as assigned.
- Advanced understanding of IP/Security solutions & technologies applicable to the Wireless Network Architecture.
- Experience with the analysis of underlying technologies that form the solution necessary for the application of threat identification, analysis, and thread model design.
- The threat model depicts trust boundary, threat agent(s), threat vector(s), and safeguard(s) necessary to protect person, asset, data, and T-Mobile brand.

- Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or Information Technology. (Required

- 4-7 years Experience in info security technology or related field
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years of Incident Handling / Incident Management experience
- Ability to lead incident bridges
- Ability to determine & gather critical stakeholders required for response efforts
- Knowledge of the Incident Handling lifecycle
- Experience in developing an Incident Response strategy
- Experience in navigating technical discussions with new environments
- 2-3 years of Digital Forensics & Incident Response experience
- 3-4 years conducting Incident Response in enterprise environments
- 2-3 years conducting Incident Response in cloud environments
- 3-5 years conducting endpoint analysis
- 3-4 years conducting network packet analysis
- 2-3 years of EDR experience, such as Crowdstrike, CarbonBlack, SentineOne
- 3-5 years of SIEM experience, such as QRadar and Splunk
- 2-3 years of experience with privacy and cyber legal investigations
- 2-3 years of experience with a CSOC
- Knowledge of vulnerability management operations
- Participates in project work
- Develops Incident Response playbooks for CIRT & CSOC
- Creates threat detections based on investigative findings
- Establishes meaningful operational and threat based metrics
- Capable of creating incident briefings and attack timelines
- Champions post incident operations, including lessons learned tracking and infrastructure improvements to improve or enhance security.
- Participate in operational rotations that may involve non-traditional working hours
- Ability to work with crossfunctional teams and assist in developing operational swimlanes
- Contributor to strategic roadmap planning for operations, tooling, and projects
- Ability to work autonomously and result driven, with little oversight.
- Willing to mentor CIRT peers, including Threat Hunting & CSOC members
- Ability to rally peers, encourage, and take lead.
Preferred Qualifications
- Willing to support CCRT (Cyber Crisis Response Team) using past Incident Commander/Management experience (ability to lead incidents through the incident handling lifecycle)
- Knowledge of forensic tooling such as Axiom, KAPE, Encase, X-Ways, Cellebrite, Sumuri, etc.
- Knowledge of memory tooling such as volatility or volexity
- Malware Reverse Engineering experience
- Experience with Threat Detection & Threat Hunting
- Experience in SOAR and automation use case development
- Experience with Threat Intelligence operations beyond VirusTotal, including TIP operations, stakeholder briefings, and crossfunctional outputs
- Experience with Insider Threat investigations
- Knowledge of NIST, MITRE, and other core industry standards.
Education/Vocational Training
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Having at least one current form of following certifications is preferred: GCIH, GCFE, GCFA, GNFA, GCIA, GREM or similar.
- At least 18 years of age
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
