• Build a strong, engaged R&D team to deliver an exciting Better-for-You innovation agenda, ensure consistent product quality and deliver on cost savings goals.
• Accelerate innovation of Better-For-You products to deliver ambitious Hain Reimagined sales and profit goals.
• Positively influence functional peers on the Global RDQ (Regulatory, R&D and Quality) Leadership Team reporting to the Chief RDQ Officer.
• Partner with the GM to drive prioritization and stage gate commercialization excellence in the Business Leadership Team.
• Partner with Supply Chain to ensure consistent product supply, deliver cost savings and build innovation that is scaled for efficient production.
• Play a leadership role in building the R&D Communities leveraging for both personal and team member development and growth.
• Leverage co-manufacturers and technical experts to deliver the strategic plan.
• Represent Hain externally to build corporate reputation in innovation, product quality and sustainability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve on the Global RDQ Leadership Team reporting to the Chief RDQ Officer
• Oversee the North America Meal Prep and Tea Research & Development function. Represent R&D and serve as commercialization leader on the cross-functional Business Team.
• Build a robust innovation pipeline across platform and flavor line extensions to drive growth and consumer delight
• Drive technical excellence, engagement and performance of a diverse product development team creating a R&D community in our new Hoboken, NJ Headquarters.
• Success is measured by metrics in the following areas:
  • Robust innovation pipeline
  • Excellent innovation execution: annual and accumulative
  • Ingredient and finished product cost savings productivity
  • Continuous improvement of business continuity and supply chain efficiencies
  • Environmental sustainability
  • Organizational engagement

QualificationsRequirements:

• BS in Food Science or Engineering required, MS preferred
• 15+ years in Consumer-Packaged Goods R&D: product development, process engineering or similar. 
• 5+ years in technical management supervising teams of scientists, engineers and front-line technical professionals.
• R&D / product development leadership experience in an entrepreneurial, start-up environment is preferred.
• Experience serving as the functional technical lead on a cross-functional leadership team
• A demonstrated self-starter with the proven ability to create direction in new territories.
• Computer skills required include MS office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• The role manages a team of 5-6 direct reports of senior managers, managers, scientists and engineers.

Hours and Travel:

• Ability to work in a hybrid work environment, creating an R&D hub in-office at the Hoboken, NJ HQ. This would require in-office presence in the Hoboken office approximately 3 days/week, twice per month.
• Periodic travel to global HQ in Hoboken, NJ, co-manufacturing plants, suppliers, customers, trade shows and leadership meeting. Approximately 25-40% of the time.
