Job description

Rambus, a premier chip and silicon IP provider, is seeking to hire an exceptional Sr Dir Marketing to join our Silicon IP team in San Jose, CA. Candidates will be joining some of the brightest inventors and engineers in the world to develop products that make data faster and safer.

 

As a Sr Dir Marketing, the candidate will be reporting to Sr Dir Business Operations and is a full-time position. As the Sr. Director Marketing for Rambus Silicon IP Business Unit, you will drive growth for the critical market segment(s). You will own the market segment revenue, strategic marketing, customer wins, and market traction for the exciting and high-growth Rambus Silicon IP working with Rambus’ dynamic teams and cutting-edge technology. You will drive customer engagement strategy and implementation for Security and Interface c ontroller Silicon IP for the overall BU, as well as specifically for the Datacenter, Networking, and Edge market segments.


• Own and drive segment/customer revenue by working closely with the sales team.

• Implement worldwide design win strategy and relentlessly drive design wins at all major semiconductor companies jointly with the sales team.

• Drive strategic design wins to successful repeat business with key customers.

• Drive strategy, narrative, and customer engagements for market segments.

• Drive outbound marketing strategy for overall Silicon IP portfolio, including website, social media, tradeshows and newsletters & articles.

• Develop new revenue models for licensing and royalty to enable growth.

• Provide customer and market input for MRDs, product positioning, and pricing to the product management team.

• Nurture relationships with key leaders at major customers.

• Attending conferences, customer meetings and factor latest trends and technologies in the security and Interface controller Silicon IP space.

• Define and drive ecosystem in the context of major semiconductor customer engagements.

• Understand market dynamics and competitive solutions, perform SWOT analysis, and prepare positioning statements.

• Create a complete set of sales tools, including customer presentations, sales training material that highlight unique value proposition of Rambus’ Silicon IP portfolio.


• Proven years of product marketing experience in semiconductors/embedded security/interface controllers with a proven track record of driving customer engagements for Silicon IP.

• Strong understanding of Silicon IP technology, trends, usage models, customers and solutions.

• Strong operational experience with ability to judge, set and drive revenue numbers.

• Good understanding of Silicon IP market evolution, market segments and technologies.

• Strong technical background: ability to understand customer requirements and position Rambus Silicon IP solutions to win designs.

• Excellent understanding of datacenter and associated technologies, PCIe/CXL/HBM/Cryptography standards & protocols as well as high level knowledge of corresponding security requirements.

• Skillset to engage executive management at major semi customers.

• Understanding of various GTM strategies for the target markets including semi and systems players.

• Strong experience in building and maintaining excellent customer relationships.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must-have.

• Strong sense of urgency in driving internal and customer organizations to achieve design win and revenue goals.

• Highly mature and excellent sense of judgement in evaluating customer requirements and driving accordingly.

• Strong ability to build relationships with senior leaders at customers and within Rambus.

• Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and written/oral communication skills.

• Ability to interface internally and externally with all levels of the organization.

• Effectively drive sales and business development teams to meet business goals.

• Demonstrate good analysis and problem-solving skills; diligent, detail-oriented approach is must-have.

• Inherent sense of urgency and accountability in all activities.

• Ability to proactively drive issues in a disciplined manner.

• Over 10 years industry experience in semiconductor market.

• BS in engineering is a must; MBA preferred.

Rambus offers a competitive compensation package including base salary, bonus, equity, matching 401(k), employee stock purchase plan, comprehensive medical and dental benefits, time-off program, and gym membership.

 

The US salary range for this full-time position is $189,600.00 to $352,000.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions.
