Sr. Digital Taxonomist

As a Digital Taxonomist for global navigation experiences and category pages, you will be responsible for driving the vision, strategy, and execution of key business initiatives. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and category teams, to deliver exceptional experiences, and drive business growth. Your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including research, stakeholder engagement, taxonomy & category updates, and experience design.
This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days on site at a Best Buy location and some days from home or other non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.
What you'll do
1. Research and Analysis

• Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and user feedback collection to identify opportunities for enhancing our navigation bar and category features, usability, and overall performance.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to inform product decisions.

2. Stakeholder Collaboration and Relationship Building

• Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including development teams, SEO, category, marketing, design, product and external partners to understand enhancements & requirements, provide research & insights, prioritize, update content and report on outcomes.
• Be accountable for navigation elements of the Best Buy App & web user flows & experiences to drive engagement and growth & act as the voice of the customer, advocating for user needs while balancing business goals and technical constraints.

3. Taxonomy & Category Experience

• Lead the taxonomy & category initiatives and optimization of the website and app's navigation bar and user interface elements to ensure a seamless and intuitive shopping experience.
• Conduct A/B testing and user testing to validate taxonomy and design decisions and iterate on improvements.

Basic qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Marketing, Communications or related field OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• 4 years in Taxonomy & Category for digital products, preferably within e-commerce, retail, or related industries.
