HII Mission Technologies is looking for a Sr Database Designer.
Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain our AWS cloud infrastructure, including RDS PostgreSQL databases.
  • Design and implement highly available, scalable, and secure database solutions in AWS.
  • Work closely with developers and other stakeholders to optimize database performance and ensure data integrity.
  • Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies for our databases.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot database issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Automate database administration tasks using scripting and/or configuration management tools.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud and database technologies and provide recommendations for improving our infrastructure.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide support for critical database issues
  • Assists with the development, management, and maintenance of the global identity and access management program.
  • Acts as subject matter expert and provides security guidance to ICAM Infrastructure, Engineering, and IT teams when it comes to authentication, authorization, auditing, and privileged access management.
  • Conducts assessments of security controls and configurations of systems within the global infrastructure to address identified gaps and improvements in security controls or solutions.
  • Work closely with Incident Response team during security events to detect, prevent, and respond to cyber threats.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day administration of the IAM system.
  • Involved in troubleshooting and resolving IAM issues.
  • Participate in IAM projects and initiatives.
  • Administer user accounts and access privileges in the organization's identity management system.
  • Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
  • Experience and understanding of Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Experience and understanding of Microsoft Azure Active Directory.
  • Experience and understanding of privileged access management tools like CyberArk Privileged Cloud or Delinea Secret Server.
  • Experience and understanding of Single Sign-On by way of SAML and OIDC using an identity platform like Azure or Okta.
  • Experience with multi factor authentication tools like Duo or MS Authenticator.
  • Experience with using PowerShell for reporting and automation.
  • Suggest solutions and maintain tools and technologies for IAM solutions. Assess operational requirements and performance quality for improvement opportunities.
  • Contribute to the strategic road maps for the Identity Management program.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of application security.
  • Some knowledge and/or experience in Role-based Access Control methods.
  • Excellent communication (Oral and written), interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong ability to present and explain complex technical topics, problems, alternative solutions to others.


Minimum Qualifications
  • 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
  • Bachelors degree highly preferred in computer science
  • Experience with DevSecOps
  • Experience building and working with data pipelines and large data sets.
  • Experience with schema design and data modeling
  • Active Secret DoD clearance required
