Job description

Areas: Intensive Care, Medical, Surgical, Telemetry

Summary:
Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates clinical information system support needs for patient care operations according to policies, procedures, protocols, and standards. Performs advanced clinical system assessment, workflow charting, process analysis, and identifying and implementing evidence based clinical information system solutions in collaboration with clinical operations teams. Mentors, sets standards of work, and supports clinical informatics team members. Hybrid work environment and need to come onsite as needed – at least once per week.

Formal Education Required:
a. Bachelor’s required in clinical profession.
b. Clinical Informatics (NI-BC) or post-graduate course work in informatics recommended.

Experience & Training Required:
a. Four (4) years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting performing direct patient care

  • Preferably with Intensive Care experience.

b. Two (2) years of Clinical Informatics experience. Certification for all relevant applications is required to be obtained within 6 months of hire for all application positions, including Epic.

  • Preferably supporting Critical Care workflows, procedures, applications, and customers.

c. Licensure: Clinicians, including RNs, maintain their current clinical practice licensure. Will be required to certify on one or more Epic applications and maintain certification.

d. Epic Clinical Informatics, Epic Care Inpatient, Epic Orders Preferred

Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
a. Excellent analytical skills and proficiency with workflows to foster problem solving.
b. Capability to understand the application functionality and how it relates to departments while making recommendations for integration into operational flow.
c. Ability to coordinate cross-team discussions and collaboration and present solutions in an organized manner.
d. Understands change management and process improvement principles.
e. Aware of project management guidelines and practices.
f. Ability to mentor team members to set priorities and utilizes problem-solving techniques with minimal direction and appropriate collaboration.
g. Flexibility to adapt to new situations and changing environments, including leading the change.

h. Hybrid work environment and need to come onsite as needed – at least once per week.

Level of Physical Demands:
a. Light work
b. Standing and/or sitting for long periods of time
c. Up to 10 pounds of lifting on occasion.

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members when determining offers. Please keep in mind that the range that is listed is the full base salary range. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical.
