Broad Scope & Purpose: The Clinical Solutions Consultant responsibilities combine technology with practical intelligence targeting medication errors, clinician productivity, predictability of medication and supply availability, and organizational financial performance. At almost every point in the med use or supply chain management process, safety, efficiency, and costs can be impacted with BD's Pyxis®, Alaris® and HealthSight® solutions.
This incumbent will partner with Sales, Implementation, and other professionals to implement the clinical sales and solution strategy at the facility level and support our customers' clinical needs through the entire sales life cycle.

  • Excels in a fast-paced healthcare sales-support role
  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of the healthcare industry, including both hospital based as well as care continuum medication management and supply chain processes. Has a thorough knowledge of nursing, pharmacy, and materials management practice/workflows, and BD's medication management dispensing, infusion, and supply solutions.
  • Expertly performs complex customer current state assessment and creates a compelling future state case to meet customer's strategic objectives/vision. Ensures customer strategic goals and implementation of solutions are aligned across the business.
  • Effectively communicates and collaborates with team members (internal and external) to drive alignment on recommendations and proposed solutions. Engages appropriate implementation resources to support successful implementation based on customer stated goals and objectives. Remains point of contact through the completion of the engagement.
  • Possesses dynamic presentation skills and excellent business writing skills.

  • Strategically works with sales and customer service organization to prioritize activities.
  • Collaborates with implementation and support service resources to ensure customer is optimizing/applying solutions to achieve strategic goals and objectives identified at beginning of project, if applicable.
  • Handles multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizes tasks based on organizational need and judgment, and is productive working independently in remote office situations.
  • Exhibits a bias toward action, is self-motivated, and a self-starter.
  • Mentors internal staff regarding best demonstrated practices.

Accountabilities:
  • Provides sales consultation and workflow analysis of existing processes within the medication management and supply chain systems. Identifies current areas of inefficiencies, patient/provider safety concerns, revenue augmentation, cost reduction, regulatory non-compliance, and drug diversion opportunities. Performs workflow redesign with practice change recommendations and accompanying BD solutions to facilitate achievement of industry standard processes and customer strategic goals.
  • Provides clinical consulting support primarily for sales to develop customer specific strategic BD solution roadmaps. Remains engaged through customer lifecycle as strategic point of contact.
  • Collaborates and builds collaborative partnerships with all members of the Sales team, Marketing, Product Research and Development teams, Interface Teams, Implementation & Support teams, Customer Advocacy, and Training.
  • Stays active and engaged with important healthcare related organizations to stay abreast of healthcare trends and changes in Pharmacy/Nursing practice that impact our business or customers. Acts as an inspiring leader to readily share healthcare knowledge with internal and external customers.
  • Functions as the voice of the Customer.
  • Applies up-to-date knowledge of the healthcare industry to provide clinical input for new product development and software enhancements.

Experience and Education:
Qualifications
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • 5+years of experience in an acute care hospital environment
  • Hospital departmental management/leadership experience required
  • Up to 75% travel required, including nights and some weekends
  • National/Strategic IDN experience strongly preferred
  • National IMME IDN collaboration strongly preferred
  • Geographic proximity to Strategic IDN customer alignment required
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued license driver's license with 3 years of consecutive driving history and meet BD's auto safety standards'.
  • Broad MMS product knowledge is strongly preferred

Nurse applicants:
Required
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • 10+ Experience in acute care hospital environment

Preferred Experiences
  • Work within interdisciplinary committees and workstreams
  • Medication safety team/risk management experience
  • Experience managing infusion systems with safety software/dose error reduction software preferred
  • Experience with automated dispensing cabinets
  • Experience with supply automation

There are many factors, such as location, that contribute to the range displayed. The salary offered to a successful candidate is based on experience, education, skills, and actual work location. Salary ranges may vary for Field-based and Remote roles.

$104,900.00 - $173,000.00
