At Houston Methodist, the Senior Business Practices Analyst is responsible for managing Business Practices programs. With limited supervision, serves as lead in the development of assigned components of the Business Practices Program. Provides advice and counsel on Business Practices issues to a variety of stakeholders throughout the System. Serves as a liaison between the Business Practices Office and assigned entity(ies).
PEOPLE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manages system-wide projects that require research, data collection, analysis of processes and evaluation of applicable regulations and guidelines. Partners with project team members from throughout the organization.
- Partners with stakeholders throughout the organization to draft, edit and adopt policies and protocols and procedures to address system-wide Business Practices issues.
- Oversees assignments of law student extern as appropriate
SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Writes policies, protocols and procedures to address system-wide Business Practices issues. Drafts and partners with appropriate stakeholders to edit and adopt.
- Serves as a liaison between Business Practices Office and assigned entity(ies).
- Provides guidance to other Business Practices Office team members to ensure consistency in communication and practice to foster professional development.
QUALITY/SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Designs, delivers and assesses educational materials for use in training modalities.
- Consults with appropriate staff and subject matter experts for analysis of facts and the interpretation and application of law, policies and procedures to develop situational response and proposals.
FINANCE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Utilizes resources effectively and efficiently, demonstrating responsible financial stewardship.
- Approaches projects and assignments in a fiscally responsible manner.
GROWTH/INNOVATION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Leads system-wide development, promotion and maintenance of assigned components of the Business Practices Program.
- Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility in the face of changing demands.
- Proactively manages own professional development. Completes My Development Plan.

EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree required
- Doctor of Jurisprudence or Master's in Healthcare Administration required
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Five years experience in Regulatory Compliance to include three years project management experience.
- Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through on-going skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations
- Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles
- Demonstrated project management skills with proven ability to successfully manage projects in a large organization
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and situations, identify issues, organize and implement strategies to effect change
- Proven ability to present information to a wide range of audiences
- Strong interpersonal and persuasive skills and ability to assess organizational dynamics
- Strong data management, word processing and presentation software skills
- Working knowledge of government healthcare regulations
