Sr. Accountant / Assistant Controller

Financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting will be among your duties as Senior Accountant. You will need first-rate analytical skills to successfully fill this role. This position is full time with excellent compensation and benefits, as well as the chance to grow.

Your responsibilities

- Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations

- Participate in various department-wide initiatives

- Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary

- Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests

- Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

- Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

- Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP

- Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

- Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

- 5+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

- Skilled with ERP systems

- BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

- Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

- Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

- Property accounting experience

- Cash Flow Reports experience

- QuickBooks experience required

- Solid understanding of Yardi

- Strong familiarity with month end closings

- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

- Able to manage time well

- Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

- Excellent verbal, written, and social skills

- Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

- Skill with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
