SQL/Powerbuilder Developer

Our company is currently seeking, for a US Based client, a remote SQL/Powerbuilder Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate must be Houston resident. He must have a strong background in PowerBuilder application development and a proven track record of picking up legacy code, updating existing codebases, and resolving errors efficiently. The role requires excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently and in team settings, and a minimum of three years of experience in PowerBuilder development roles. The SQL Developer will be responsible for testing code, debugging errors, performing upgrades/enhancements, and identifying/remediating application security issues to ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of our applications.

Qualifications

• Must be Houston TX resident.
• Must be amenable to enter into an Independent Contractor arrangement.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of three (3+) years of experience in PowerBuilder application development roles.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and database management systems (DBMS), such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle.
• Experience with testing frameworks and debugging tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and in team settings.
• Knowledge of application security principles and best practices.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented mindset and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies is a plus.
