SQL Server DBA/Developer
The Database Administrator/Developer plays a key part in developing industry-leading solutions using latest technologies in MS SQL Server to design, develop, and maintain large-scale database projects and server availability/uptime. This dual role is responsible for performance tuning misbehaving systems as issues arise, supporting software developers by designing stored procedures, SQLjobs, data operations, maintaining the SQL Servers (patching and installing), and ensuring backups/maintenance is working. This position is part of a highly collaborative environment working with other skilled professionals to continuously improve database architecture and execution. Salary based on experience.
Responsibilities
Design and document logical and physical database models to cater to a variety of business requirements
Create tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and report queries
Adhere to best practices and standards in the areas of performance, security, and availability of databases
Create, maintain, and execute MS SQL Server jobs
Provide post-implementation support, including, but not limited to, monitoring application performance, and debugging existing code
Keep up with advancements and changes in technology and develop an understanding of how new technologies can be leveraged to provide business solutions
Install and maintain MS SQL Servers in a virtual azure cloud environment
Configure and maintain Windows Cluster/SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups
Plan, manage and optimized SQL server HA/DR policies and procedures
Create/migrate and deploy databases
Create and maintain database backup, maintenance and restore plans
Create automation for repetitive database tasks
Monitor and troubleshoot performance related issues
Test disaster recovery scenarios
Assume other database duties as assigned
QualificationsSkills/Knowledge/Abilities Preferred
2+ years of proficient experience in design, development, and maintenance of large database systems (1 TB or more a plus)
2+ years of experience in MS SQL database administration
MS SQL Server (Scripting, Indices, Views, Stored Procedures, Memory Optimized Tables, Table Partitioning)
Ability to perform effectively in a team-oriented environment
Ability to quickly learn new technologies and business functions
Experience in virtualized environments
Experience in cloud environments, preferably Azure
Familiarity with Windows Clusters and Microsoft AlwaysOn Availability Groups
Experience using SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio)
Knowledge of T-SQL execution plans to problem solve along with proper indexing application
PowerShell scripting is a plus
Experience in SSIS development is a plus
