SQL Database Development Engineer
American Cruise Lines, the largest cruise line in the United States, is looking to add a SQL Database Development Engineer based in its Sandy, UT corporate office. This position will work closely with SQL Architects and Full-Stack developers to deliver and maintain database schemas supporting our suite of applications.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining the performance of existing database programs.
- Assisting Database Development team in designing new database programs.
- Unit testing database programs and resolving defects.
- Creation of efficient queries in complex multi-instance environments.
- Monitoring databases, database jobs and related systems to ensure performance.
- Performing debugging procedures on database scripts as well as resolving conflicts.
- Documenting processes related to database design, configuration, and performance.
Database Engineer Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, information technology, computer science, or similar.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in database engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) including views and stored procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience in working in complex data architectures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
