SQL Developer for Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence

2 days a week onsite in Providence, RI

Company: Leading Financial Services Firm

Overview: We are a top-notch financial services company looking for a proficient SQL Developer to join our accomplished team. This role has been created recently after the implementation of a new data warehouse. You will be one of the two developers on the team. Although we operate in a C# environment, this position is primarily focused on data warehousing and business intelligence and does not require C# development.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, implement, and maintain databases using SQL for our newly implemented data warehouse.

2. Develop complex SQL scripts for data analysis and extraction, data cleaning, and data integration.

3. Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

4. Create and maintain ETL processes, data models, reports, and dashboards for business intelligence.

5. Optimize and fine-tune SQL server performance and ensure data quality and integrity.

6. Analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights that will drive business decisions.

7. Assist in maintaining the security and confidentiality of the information, by ensuring that security protocols are in place.

8. Troubleshoot and provide solutions for any data-related issues in the data warehouse.

Qualifications:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

2. Previous work experience as an SQL Developer or a similar role in Data Warehousing.

3. Proficiency in SQL and knowledge of best practices for database development and management.

4. Familiarity with ETL tools, techniques, and data modeling.

5. Familiarity with business intelligence tools (like PowerBI, Tableau, etc.) is a plus.

6. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

7. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

8. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Note: Although we use C# in our environment, this role will not involve any actual C# development. This job solely focuses on Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence.
