Job Title: SQD Indirect/Transport

Location(s); Brighton, Colorado

Job Description:

This position represents the SQ&D department VAME region, coordinates SQ&D activities and ensures that the SQD strategies are executed with highest focus on quality, safety, and environment, and without compromising agreed processes and lowest total cost of ownership. The key task is the operational development of key suppliers in the VAME region by performing site audits, supplier assessments, product approval process such as APQP, PPAP and leading improvement tasks to enforce high supplier performance, zero incidents and reduce the number non-conformities.

Responsibilities:

  • Deploy the Vestas Quality, Safety and Environment Strategy towards external suppliers.

 

  • Monitor supplier quality, capability, and performance topics on behalf and in compliance with the SQD strategy.
  • Secure agreement with regional QHSE Teams for completion of supplier assessments and improvement activities.
  • Coordinate QSE activities in cases of non-quality performance and incidents with suppliers in line with Vesta's requirements.
  • Lead and conduct supplier development projects.
  • Oversee and conduct QHSE audits on site and prepare executive report.
  • Travel expected to be approximately 50% per year.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience gained on similar position (supplier quality development)
  • Supplier negotiation experience and contract management
  • Previous experience and knowledge of supplier development activities such as APQP, PPAP, Audits, etc.
  • Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering
  • Certified auditor/lead auditor ISO 9000, 14000 and 18000 would be nice, but not a must.
  • Auditor AS8000 would be nice, but not a must.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent will be advantage.
  • Competency in software, spreadsheets, and database management.

 

Competencies:

  • Ability to prioritize - also in a time-sensitive situation.
  • Strong meeting facilitator with the ability to work on all organizational levels.
  • Lead Auditor ISO, VDA, APQP
  • High project management skills with the ability to deliver development projects across the organization (external key suppliers)
  • Solid English skills in both speech and writing
  • Comprehensive Problem-Solving skills focus on hands on approach.
