The Spray Shop Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the operations of a machine shop. This includes managing the production schedule, leading a team of roughly nine employees, ensuring quality standards, and collaborating with other departments to meet production goals. They may also be involved in equipment maintenance, process improvement, and ensuring a safe working environment. Leadership, technical expertise, and strong communication skills are key for this role.
· Lead, Manage, and Be Accountable for the Thermal Spray Technicians (LMA)
· On Time Delivery KPI as 85% or higher
· Rework Hours Less than: 4%
· Documents all Over hours on Jobs and suggests improvements.
· Productive hours for each direct report must be greater than 85% daily
· Daily Update Monday.com to reflect the status of Jobs in house.
· Report an inventory purchase need to Director of Ops
· Must display a level of professionalism and care – Camaraderie.
· Remain calm under pressure.
· Take ownership of his work and his team’s performance.
· Read prints and follow work order travelers.
· Execute the job in the time allowed on the traveler – or provide feedback on the issues.
· Perform quantity checks on orders leaving the department to ensure that all orders meet specifications.
· Learn the thermal spray systems: HVOF, ARC, HVAF, Flame, & Plasma. Understand grit blast.
· Be able to program a robot for spray.
· Communicate with and provide input to supervisor, regarding production needs, new projects, and design changes.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to standard manufacturing shop environmental conditions. Eye protection is required in shop areas. The noise level in the shop can be loud, and ear protection is to be used where required. Other personal protective equipment may be required as appropriate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: sit, handle, feel and control items or equipment, talk, hear, see, and be able to read, write, and interpret written documents. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, which is regularly required to view computer screen. Occasionally may need to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
