Job Description
WDAY TV is looking for a full-time reporter/co-host to join an award-winning sports reporting team that covers Division I sports at North Dakota State University and state tournament broadcasts. This is not a daily on-air position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Sideline reporting and research for all live, televised sports including but not limited to: football, men's and women's basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, soccer, and more.
  • Co-host of Bison GameDay - a 1-hour pregame show for all NDSU football games. Co-host, research, write, edit, and report featured stories for the program. Be knowledgeable about the team and opponents, and have the ability to conduct informative, concise, and entertaining live interviews. Work closely with a live sports team to develop coverage ideas and story lines.
  • Fill-in host for Hot Mic, a 2-hour daily sports talk show, and produce and develop content for the show.
  • Live reporter for North Dakota high school state tournaments.Report live during the broadcast and produce/research featured stories that will air in between games.
  • Feature reporting for all platforms. Research, produce, and write stories that are clear and engaging. Edit weekly stories for newscasts.
  • Cover press conferences.
  • Shoot highlights for newscasts and video for stories as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Live on-air experience a must.
  • Must have a flexible work schedule - travel required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a driving record that is insurable by the company.
  • Must carry an acceptable level of vehicle insurance as required by the company.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all sports.
  • Ability to think on your feet and multitask, whileprioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Premiere software.
