Sports Force Parks -Sports Manager - Tournament/Local Use Manager

Job Description

As a successful Sports Manager - Tournament/Local Use Manager, you will Plan, facilitate, and operate all youth and adult local sports programming at a Sports Force Parks. This position has strong emphasis in relationship building skills with community, youth athletes, coaches, and parents. The role requires personal drive, determination, and hard work in a fun, fast-paced environment. It is an incredible opportunity to grow within a world-class organization. Required Skills Responsibilities

  • Fully operate all youth and adult local use programming, Baseball, Softball, Soccer and Lacrosse

programming, including other sports and events at a Sports Force Parks

  • Coordinate Local use in the park. Leverage relationships with local youth organizations, High Schools

& Colleges to drive park exposure in the market and maximize footsteps in the park during non

traditional event day and times.

  • Work with the Park General Manager and Sports Managers to ensure a world class guest experience

For players, coaches and families

  • Schedule umpires, through assignors and organizational partnerships, schedule seasonal staff for all

youth and adult tournament programming and tournaments as needed

  • Serve as the Event Director for all programming
  • Provide exceptional customer service to customers on-site throughout the duration of the

tournament/event and offer support during other programing events at the park

  • Support the SFP Intern program, that will have interns supporting the events and experience goals
  • Serve as Manager on Duty for all programming when needed
  • Support the operations of the business including Park opening and closing procedures, cash controls

and all other functions in operating a customer service-based environment

  • Provide exceptional customer service to customers on-site throughout the duration of the

tournament/event and offer support during other programing events at the park

  • Support the organization in a sales and tournament building role during the season and offseason,

including but not limited to:

o Develop events and activities that can be implemented to enhance the guest experience

o Coordinate Special Events that will bring guest to the park which can be non-sports related

o Working effectively with sales staff to implement new programming year-to-year

o Make sales calls, speak directly with coaches and organizations to fill tournament slots

o Meeting with league representatives and coaches to fill tournament slots

o Attending league meetings, events and conventions as a SFP representative

o Building relationships with current and potential sports specific partners

o Support/Sell in-park sponsorships

o Coordinate Adaptive field programming

o Manage the coordinators to support the Ambassador program

  • Any other needs that support the mission of Sports Force Parks

Education and Experience


  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service skills; ability to adhere to Company's Service Standards
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills - ability to communicate with staff and prepare written

reports

  • Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to direct the work activities of several

associates simultaneously and plan ahead.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Cash handling or check out experience is preferred but nor required
  • Ability to operate personal computer, including ability to effectively use scanning equipment
  • Willingness to work long hours and weekends seasonally as the business requires
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, including walking long distances throughout the park during

assigned shift.

  • May be asked to routinely lift items of weight up to 30 lbs. to accomplish job duties.
  • Must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment in large, crowded areas of outdoor park.
  • Routinely exposed to extreme hot/cold weather conditions

We Prefer

1+ years of directing youth sports tournaments and providing exceptional customer service
