DESCRIPTION
The city of Shoreview is looking for a motivated, high-energy individual to work as a part-time Sports Coordinator for Shoreview Parks & Recreation. This person will Primarily work with the youth soccer and youth ice skating programs as well as the outdoor ice rink operations.
DUTIES INCLUDE

• Assist with the development and execution of recreation program curriculum and content for soccer and ice skating programs
• Provide exceptional customer service, including communication both verbally and in writing
• Make decisions and respond to inquiries and concerns relating to participants, programs, staff and public
• Coordinate and lead the implementation of a variety of recreational opportunities ensuring quality experiences for participants
• Assist the supervisor in maintaining relationships with internal and external groups
• Assist in the selection, training, scheduling, and supervision of seasonal instructors, volunteers, or partnering organizations
• Assess facilities and program equipment and inventory as needed or directed
• Work with city software systems
• Other duties and special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications

• One year experience in recreation and/or community oriented athletic/sports programs with increasing leadership responsibilities
• One year customer service experience
• General knowledge of soccer and ice skating
• Must be 18 years of age
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting

Desired Qualifications

• In process of completing (or recently completed) Bachelor's or Master's degree in Recreation, Sports Management, or a closely related field
• Supervisory experience
• Previous experience with a parks and recreation agency or related setting
• CPR/FA/AED and concussion training
• Previous experience with recreation software

OTHER
HOURS: Monday - Thursday: 2pm-7pm year-round & Saturdays: 8am-12pm Oct-Feb
