Maintenance - Full Time - No per Diem Monday through Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM
SUMMARY
This position consists of helping with wet mill yield by cleaning and maintaining the spiral processes. Assist in all other areas of the plant where knowledge, skill and ability exist.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)
  1. Installs diesel pumps as needed throughout plant, including minor maintenance from packing pumps to priming the fuel system.

  1. Operates and maintains field equipment.

  1. Conducts preventative maintenance (PM) inspections in order to ensure continuity of operation of equipment. Patrols operating areas in order to detect abnormal conditions.

  1. Turns dials and handles, opens and closes valves on wet and dry mills in order to obtain a specific ore grade.

  1. Maintains service lines to and from wet mills.

  1. Maintains proper setting cleanliness, and functioning of spirals.

  1. Assist in calculating and maintaining spiral feed rate by sampling and changing settings on spirals.

  1. Assist in maintenance activities: change pipelines and valves, patch launders, maintain/repair trommel screens and chute, change/add feedline and swing lines, move access walkway.

  1. Assists with maintenance on pumps and pipe replacement.

  1. Inspects safety systems. Emergency lights eye wash station, 1st aid kits, and fire extinguishers.

  1. Maintain standards of housekeeping. Wash deck, clean and maintain restroom and change house, clean lunchroom.

  1. Repairs leaks on pipes.

  1. Assist boat operators, field operators, field crew, tractor operator and shift workers in assorted operation and maintenance tasks. Runs the boat.

  1. Uses various equipment to perform tasks, including, large farm tractors, 10-wheel truck off-road, tractors, track-mobile, forklift, etc.

  1. Trains new hires on mill operations.

  1. Accountable for working safely and for maintaining a respectful work place.

  1. Must be able to resolve problems associated with spiral operation.

  1. Ability to work in all weather conditions and accomplish work safely.

  1. Ability to go from task to task without leaving problems for others.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
