Job Description:
The Staff Speech/Language Therapist is responsible for supporting the mission of the hospital by providing quality speech therapy services. The Speech/Language Therapist applies evidence, knowledge, and skills to positively affect swallowing, cognitive and expressive skills, and life satisfaction of patients of all ages who have impairments of aural, oral and brain functions resulting from injury, disease or other causes. The Speech/Language Therapist is a qualified individual who diagnoses, prognoses, prescribes for and/or remediates speech and/or language and/or orofacial myofunction disorders. The Speech/ Language Therapist interacts and practices in collaboration with a variety of professionals involved in the care of the patient.
Education
Masters of Science in Speech/Language Pathology or Audiology. Doctorate degree preferred.
Licensure/Certifications
California State Speech Language Pathologist license. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification is required.
