Job Description
A medical services organization in North Carolina is currently seeking a new, licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join their growing team. In this role, the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will be responsible for providing direct services to the residents of the organization in the form of speech therapy assessments and evaluations, consultations, technical assistance, and training for residents, family members, professionals, and paraprofessionals.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: 13 to 16 weeks
- Hours: 8am to 4:30pm
- Patient Population: Adults (Ages 18+)
Responsibilities:
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will be responsible for:
- Providing direct speech therapy services as identified by assessment, warranted by need and supported by the interdisciplinary team
- Prescribing appropriate equipment, materials, and approaches to afford residents the greatest degree of safety and independence
- Evaluating residents per the MDS Process and adheres to documentation standards, ensuring all needs are addressed
- Reviewing the Nurses' notes, flow sheets or other important documentation to stay abreast of residents' needs or changes
- Tracking progress/maintenance/regression of residents in key areas and takes action to address
- Serveing as a consultant for other specialties/departments to meet special needs for residents
- Serving as a member of the Therapeutic Services Team and participates in meetings and committees that promote this team
- Developing therapeutic programs to address need identified through assessment that maintains skills and enhance quality of life
- Completes required paperwork for MDS process, including RAI, CAA, Care Plans, Progress Notes within specified timelines
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- NC Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
Desired Skills:
- 1+ year of experience working with Neurocognitive (dementias or Intellectual Developmental Disorders) diagnoses
- Master's Degree
