The Speech Language Pathologist provides inpatient acute care services and is a vital member of a multidisciplinary team providing advanced, high quality healthcare.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluates and treat patients with speech, language and/or swallowing impairments.
- Patient population includes cardiac, orthopedic, neurologic, vascular, pulmonary and medical-surgical patient.
- Develops individualized treatment plans and set goals for patients diagnosed as needing speech and language / feeding/swallowing interventions. Re-evaluates and modifies treatment programs as warranted.
- Areas addressed include articulation, voice, fluency, receptive and expressive language skills, oral motor competence and dysphagia.
- Accurate documentation for all patient visits in EMR
- Educate patient and family members
- Work with interdisciplinary team for plan of care
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech and Language from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- New York State license and registration in Speech-Language Pathology required.
- CPR certification
- MBS (Modified Barium Swallow) experience required.
- FEES ( Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) experience required
- Acute care/ hospital setting experience is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to comply with all regulatory standards
Posted Salary Range: USD $42.53 - USD $53.16 /Hr. :
