TITLE: Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant
REPORTS TO: Supervising SLP
LOCATION: Camarillo, CA
COMPENSATION: $70,000 - $80,000 DOE
HOURS: Flexible hours; positions available for 32 - 40 hours per week
START DATE: ASAP

Job Summary:
A1 Speech Therapy is a private clinic in Camarillo, CA offering a variety of speech and language services to both the pediatric and geriatric populations. We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team to help make a positive difference in individuals’ lives by helping them communicate better. The position will be headquartered in Camarillo, CA, and will report to a supervising speech-Language Pathologist or to the Director.
Responsibilities:
- Provide client speech therapy services according to individual treatment plans developed by Speech-Language Pathologists
- Assist Speech-Language Pathologist with conducting speech-language screenings and assessments using appropriate prescribed techniques and devices; confer with Speech-Language Pathologists regarding client progress
- Document client progress toward goals and objectives by preparing records, logs, goal sheets or other means of documentation
- Provide assistance to staff as a case management team member through consultation, training and individual and group activities; assist with the development of goals and objectives for assigned clients
- Prepare therapy materials and equipment for use during therapy such as picture cards, worksheets, charts, audio equipment and computerized therapy applications and devices
- Observe and control behavior and interaction of clients according to approved procedures; report significant client behavior and behavioral patterns; utilize positive restraint techniques according to established procedures as necessary
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information
- Perform a variety of client case management support duties such as maintaining records, files and preparing reports related to assigned clients; schedule appointments for parents/clients as necessary
- Operate a variety of office equipment including a computer, tablet and assigned software.
- Attend a variety of meetings, workshops and in-service trainings to maintain current knowledge of developments in the field of Speech-Language Pathology
- May be asked to participate in speech-related programs or classes for parents or children
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must possess:
- Associate/ Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
- Speech-Language Pathology Assistant license issued by the CA SLPAB
- Must provide an annual TB test result and have current Pediatric and Adult CPR certification (BLS) within first 30 days of employment
- Must possess good communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Multilingual, i.e., speaks another language(s) other than English
- Experience with Mac computers
- At least one year experience with pediatric population
