The Specimen Processor II is responsible for the accurate and prompt processing of clinical specimens to the technical sections. The incumbent assists the lead tech and manager in complex problem solving to ensure tests are correctly ordered, ensures that specimens are referred to the correct reference laboratory, and that reference laboratory results are correctly reported. The Specimen Processor II assists with the training/orientation for new procedures and/or personnel.

Required Qualifications:- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program or an official Medical Laboratory Procedures course of at least 50 weeks
- Associate Degree in chemical, physical or biological science
- Medical Laboratory Technician from an accredited institution
- Extensive comparable, proven, related work experience in a similar environment may be considered in lieu of education
- Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
