Schedule:
- Monday: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
- Tuesday: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
- Wednesday: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
- Thursday: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
- Friday: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Your weekly schedule might fluctuate based on the provider's availability and patient volume. You could be requested to work at other offices in the vicinity to fulfill your Full-Time status.
Responsibilities:
- Collect samples from patients, ensuring proper identification on cups and paperwork.
- Verify accuracy of laboratory specimens and requisition forms.
- Receive, order tests, process, and package specimens for transportation to reference laboratories.
- Ensure proper labeling of specimens and verify correct specimens are submitted for requested tests.
- Facilitate requested changes from providers or staff personnel.
- Enter laboratory test orders and patient demographics into computer systems.
- Perform quality control checks, package specimens according to lab standards, and prepare for shipping daily.
- Maintain confidentiality of all laboratory information according to policy.
- Upload patient results into the practice's EMR system.
Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous medical experience preferred.
- Proficient typing skills with speed and accuracy; good computer skills.
- Ability to learn laboratory requisition systems and office EMR systems.
- Capable of working independently under general supervision.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment to meet turnaround times.
- Reliable transportation is a must.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move quickly when required.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Effective knowledge transfer from one situation to another.
- Ability to work quietly in a shared office environment.
- Must pass a background check.
- Dependable and on time.
