Job Description

Core Diagnostic Laboratories is looking to hire an experienced and motivated Phlebotomist/Specimen Processor to be a part of our growing laboratory team located in Birmingham, AL. This position will be in the Decatur, AL geography.

MUST HAVE PHLEBOTOMY EXPERIENCE. The ideal candidate will have experience swabbing for covid and must be comfortable handling biohazardous materials with provided PPE. Peds experience is a MUST. This position will be responsible for the collection of all specimens and preparation for shipping to Laboratory.

Must have reliable transportation. Some local travel required to several clinics in the area.

Hours are flexible.

Responsibilities:

· Accurately order all tests listed on the patient requisition form

· Appropriately process samples according to the testing criteria

· Prepare samples for shipment to laboratory

· Follow HIPPA regulations and Universal Precautions

· Communicate issues to management in a timely manner

Skills:

· Attention to detail

· Sample processing experience

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Efficient in computer operations

· Previous lab experience is preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
