- Specialty Retail Sales Associate
The Specialty Retail Sales Associatewill promote and support the Hallmark Brand and associated products by selling our image of quality, large selection and conscientious customer service to each retail customer, aspiring to make a loyal customer as well as a sale. Employment will be determined based on skills and experiences. These roles are at Debbie’s Hallmark both in Benton, Arkansas (1300 Military Rd) and Bryant, Arkansas (5928 Highway 5 N).
SPECIALTY SALES ASSOCIATE:
The Sales Associate will be responsible for providing excellent selling and customer service that will improve the productivity and profitability of the store. The Sales Associate will provide the customer with product recommendations and perform appropriate cash transactions when the sale is made. The overall focus is on sales and service at all times. The Sales Associate will assist with proper stocking of products, merchandising the sales floor with incoming merchandise and back stock, inventories, pricing, storing product and housekeeping.
DAILY DUTIES
- Actively seeks opportunities to deliver exceptional customer service to every customer. The customer’s needs take priority over store tasks.
- Receives and unpacks cartons of merchandise, checking invoices against items received.
- Stocks displays with new merchandise or back stock.
- Sets up display merchandisers and fixtures according to directional diagrams, written and/or verbal, that will attract customers and promote sales.
- Performs all housekeeping duties regularly.
- Understands all aspects of loss prevention, i.e. shoplifting, cash register operations, etc.
- Has access to store cash and product assets and held accountable for same.
- Ability to accept change on a regular basis and ability to work with a diverse group of people.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE TO BE CONSIDERED):
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Have at least 12 consecutive months of Retail Sales experience.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that meets the needs of the business, including the day before and after major holidays, and weekends. This includes availability to work opening and closing shifts.
- Ability to continuously stand/walk; frequently push/pull; occasionally bend/stoop/crawl/reach above shoulders/kneel; climb a ladder, and carry up to 40 pounds; i.e., fixture parts and cartons.
- Must have reliable transportation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE):
- To be considered for a Sales Associate/Key holder role you must meet the following: 18+ years of age, 2+ years of previous retail experience, be available to open and close the store a minimum of 3 times per week and 2 weekend shifts per month.
- High school diploma / GED or above.
- Ability to demonstrate strong customer-focused engagement on and off the sales floor.
- Demonstrated success working as a member of a team.
- Ability to receive feedback and take action when appropriate.
- Strong sense of urgency, flexibility and willingness to adapt to change.
- Desire and ability to learn the business.
- Proficiency and comfort using a computer and other technology. Knowledge of social media is extremely helpful.
