- Answer telephone and determine whether the caller is trying to obtain general information, schedule an appointment or speak to a nurse/provider.
- Review the schedule the week prior and at the beginning of the day and periodically throughout the day to determine patient flow and provider availability.
- Verify patient identity, update changes to address, contact information, insurance, or other pertinent information.
- Produce paperwork and admit numbers for Specialty Clinic visits.
- Enter and validate charges within 24 hours of visits.
- Coordinate outpatient services with access services.
- Schedule follow-up appointments at the end of the current day appointment.
- Ensure dictation is being obtained in a timely manner and distributed to appropriate sources per physician and CHCS guidelines.
- Obtain proper forms with completed signatures as appropriate.
- Ensure new patient paperwork is completed per physician guidelines.
- Communicate changes in schedule with nursing and provider staff at CHCS and Specialty Provider office.
- Communicate with patient/family member in the waiting room if provider is delayed and communicates anticipated wait time for appointment.
- Obtain written patient approval for financial responsibility and authorization for treatment.
- Collect point of service payment.
- Supports and abides by the mission, values, and policies of CHCS in all activities.
- On-going compliance with CHCS educational requirements.
- All other duties as required.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledgeable with an Electronic Health Record
- Great customer service skills and interpersonal skills
- Keent attention to detail
- Problem solving skills and basic troubleshoot skills.
- Knowledgeable with Medical Terminology (preferred)
