As a Specialty Pharmacy pharmacist, this individual performs patient outreach assessments for determination of appropriateness of specialty medication therapy, and documents the care provided within the Specialty Pharmacy Patient Management Program software. This relates to clinical activities, metric reporting, compliance, and quality improvement projects for specialty pharmacy accreditation. This pharmacist will oversee program expansion, focus on developing relationships with clinic staff and specialty providers, help build third party payer and manufacturer relations and participates in all areas of dispensing, call center and clinic as needed or requested. The pharmacist will be responsible for obtaining prior authorizations for all procedural orders by successfully completing the authorization process with all payers. The pharmacist is responsible for assisting physicians/providers and management with clerical, and organizational tasks revolving around patient care for infusion services. Employee will also travel within the infusion suites as needed for staff education and patient care. The pharmacist will get to assist in hiring permanent staff as well as be involved in initial pharmacy set up.
Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. in Pharmacy or Pharm.D., Louisiana pharmacist license in good standing
Preferred Qualifications:
Specialty pharmacy experience with clinical knowledge and therapy management for Transplant, HIV, Oncology, Rheumatology, pulmonology, and others preferred but not required. Experience with Caretend (Wellsky).
