As the Specialist, Procurement, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our fuel inventory management and ensuring invoices are processed in a timely manner. Your work will directly impact our operational efficiency and cost control.

What you'll do on a typical day:
- Perform daily fuel inventory reconciliation
- Identify and investigate inventory variances, and take corrective actions
- Be the main point of contact for operations to help identify and resolve fuel inventory issues
- Complete and/or oversee the monthly fuel inventory reconciliation
- Maintain records in accordance with established policies and procedures and all audit guidelines; participate in the development of new or revised standards and recommend new standards when needed
- Verify the accuracy of invoices, cross-checking them against delivery receipts, purchase orders, and supplier agreements. Resolve discrepancies and ensure all charges are correct.
- Using analytical skills for problem solving to resolve any gaps in the AP process
- Enter urgent invoices into the Oracle accounting system
- Work in Oracle ERP System to resolve payment issues and holds
- Handling escalations from suppliers regarding status of payment
- Maintain effective communication with suppliers regarding their fuel invoices, addressing any inquiries, discrepancies, or payment-related issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end closes for areas of functional responsibility
- Act as a liaison between field operations and our fuel suppliers
What you need to succeed at XPO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
- 1 year of experience in inventory management/reconciliation, accounts payable, procurement, and customer service
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and tools
- Ability to investigate and analyze information to draw conclusions and solve problems
It'd be great if you also have:
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, accounts payable, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in inventory management/reconciliation, accounts payable, procurement, and customer service; preferably in the transportation industry
- Experience in the fuel industry, accounts payable, and/or procurement
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills with the ability to identify and resolve problems
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities and changing priorities
- Understanding of transportation operations and supply chain management
- Proven experiences in a fast-paced environment
