The Specialist I tracks stages of titling and lien release on accounts that are in the process of being paid in full.  This individual is responsible for follow-up with customers, dealers, banks, etc.… to help facilitate the payoffs and closure of loans.  Gather and prepare all supporting documentation to complete the payoff and lien release process.  Provide support to the Recreation Lending business unit. This person is also accountable to ensure that the Recreation Lending policies and procedures are followed in accordance with state and federal laws and practices. The following specific duties and functions apply to the Specialist I position:

 

Essential Functions:

  • Pulls physical titles from the file room and organizes them with payoff related paperwork.
  • Processes Title/Lien release on paid off accounts
  • Prints daily payoff reports through Tardis and validates payoffs
  • Gathers and organizes backup docs, pulling payoff information on how loan was paid off, for payoff and release of liens/titles, address as to where title should be sent and issuance of overpayment refunds.
  • Works with various teams/departments to finalize lien releases.
  • Speaks with customers, dealers, insurance companies, banks, etc.… to resolve title payoffs and final resolution of titles.  
  • Updates system of record of steps taken while working through the payoff process.
  • Supports level II Specialists, Sr. Specialists and other individuals as assigned by leadership
  • Fulfills other tasks and functions as assigned by leadership

Compliance with Laws & Regulations: 

  • Responsible for complying with all of the Bank’s internal control policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with all laws and regulations to which the Bank is subject.
  • Responsible for communicating problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, noncompliance with laws and regulations, policy violations, or illegal acts. 

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • One (1) year’s work experience is preferred.

 

Summary of Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of payoff processes is preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of federal and state collection, banking, lending and bankruptcy laws and regulations for the non-prime credit segment.
  • Experience and demonstrated skill with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.…), e-mail, and database software.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. 
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.  Skilled at handling a variety of assignments simultaneously.  Flexibility with a willingness to work at a rapid pace within strict time frames.
  • Communicates effectively both orally and in writing, including negotiation skills; presents ideas in a clear, concise, understandable, and organized manner.
  • Effective planning, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills. High level of accountability for work with limited supervision.  High degree of accuracy and trust are required.
  • Completes all Essential Functions with a professional demeanor.
  • Willingness and ability to engage in continuing education in support of the business.
