Position Summary...
What you'll do...
About the Team: Asset Protection - Investigations - Risk Mitigation
What You'll do: In this role you will report to the Senior Manager Investigations and Risk Mitigation. You will Investigate matters having significant financial, integrity, environmental, legal, and public interest impact on the Company. Develop reports and tools to identify and evaluate internal and external theft cases. Act in an advisory role to Asset Protection team.
  • Conduct queries, locate data (includes archived data), and create appropriate reports for internal and external customers according to Company guidelines.
  • Review and analyze records, reports, and documents to ensure compliance with Company operational expectations.
  • Interface with internal and/or external groups (e.g., alarm techs, loss prevention, Facility management, law enforcement, regulatory agencies) to ensure the most efficient and professional customer service. Develop and maintain relationships with all levels of government agencies (including Federal, State, and local).
  • Interact appropriately with governmental authorities.
  • Manage confidential information and documentation as required by Company policies, and local, State and Federal guidelines.
  • Obtain and prepare case documentation per legal guidelines for litigation (e.g., discovery request, subpoenas).
  • Analyze data, efficiency reports, and other information to establish trends, develop strategies, and apply resources to create further efficiency in operations.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with multiple departments to further the agenda of own operating division.
  • Collect, analyze, and disseminate information and competitive intelligence from internal and external sources to determine trends, mitigate risk and potential loss in primary loss areas.
  • Conduct background research or other investigative resources as needed to adequately assess a case.
  • Maintain computerized collection and tracking of relevant data.
  • Utilize software to analyze and interpret research data.
  • Design and/or develop specific databases for the collection, tracking, and reporting of data.
  • Research and analyze trends and methods utilized by organized criminal groups to permit early detection and intervention.
  • Coordinate law enforcement requests for assistance.
  • Support internal customers in researching, identifying trends and presenting data in a clear, concise manner.
  • Maintain data management practices including areas affecting responsibility for data quality and the management of automated processes and reports.
  • Evaluate video or other electronic data.
  • Document, in written or typed form, accurate details of incidents.

What you'll bring: Background in Analytics. Knowledge and experience in conducting investigations.
You'll sweep us off our feet if:
Club/Store Operations or Asset Protection background. You understand complex investigative processes. Knowledge in analytics programs.

About Walmart: Asset Protection
The Asset Protection Division supports all U.S. Sam's Club locations in the areas of Compliance, Risk Management and Asset Protection. The primary functions consist of protecting the assets of the company to include, financial, people, and property. Objectives include but are not limited to ensuring Member and Associate safety, enforcing compliance initiatives, and controlling unnecessary financial losses. The AP division is responsible for conducting confidential investigations relating to internal/external theft, fraud, and embezzlement. This division also responds to emergency situations, such as fires, hurricanes, floods and or other natural/man-made catastrophic events. Finally, we maintain collaborative efforts with legal, merchandising, marketing, and operations to ensure compliance in all the areas we support.
