- CPR and First Aid certification required
- NCI (Non-violent Crisis Intervention) certification required
- Assist with supervision and safety of individuals with disabilities including implementing behavior management plans and NCI (Non-violent Crisis Intervention) techniques and First Aid, once certified
- Demonstrate good safety awareness and judgment
- Maintain effective and open communication with Program Coordinator/leader and other staff with information concerning participants’ needs, progress, or situations related to programming
- Provide individualized support as needed to ensure participants’ successful participation in activities
- Provide personal assistance to individuals with disabilities as needed, including assistance with transferring, eating, toileting, etc.
- Must be able to follow directions, policies, and procedures
- Enthusiastically implement and participate in activities
- Maintain a professional attitude with participants, families, other staff, and community members
- Attend mandatory trainings
- Complete availability forms, documentation, and other materials as needed, in a timely manner
- Maintain own schedule and submit electronic timesheets in a timely manner, as guided by the City payroll schedule
- Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying items weighing 20-50 pounds with mechanical assistance or team lift
- Maintain program facilities in a neat and orderly manner
- Gather, load, transport and set up equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned by Program Coordinator/leader
