Job Goal: Provide a program that is effective in meeting the educational needs of adults who lack basic skills.
Performance Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
- Valid South Carolina teaching certificate (Preferred areas of certification: reading, math, and/or special education)
- Evening hours are required
- Ability to work with diverse populations of students
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Proven ability to teach reading, writing, and math skills

Job Goal: Provide a program that is effective in meeting the educational needs of adults who lack basic skills.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the Young Adult Population (YAP) Program
- Facilitate and/or provide instruction for GED and diploma classes
- Facilitate and/or provide instruction for short-term GED "Fast Track" classes
- Manage classroom instruction to provide maximum learning opportunities for each student
- Administer the TABE assessment as needed, and provide placement decisions
- Administer, score, and provide feedback regarding Official Practice GED results
- Facilitate WIN instruction and testing
- Facilitate computer-assisted instruction in the computer lab
- Facilitate the development of individualized instructional plans for students
- Participate in professional development activities
- Work with students under age 18 who are enrolled in Adult Education classes
- Provide supportive services to Adult Education instructors working with special needs students
- Assist with curriculum development
- Make presentations to civic/community organizations for the purpose of promoting literacy and Adult Education
- Performs other related duties as required
