Duties Summary
This recruitment is for a full-time (40 hours per week) temporary contract position not-to-exceed 12 months with the Office of Housing & Community Development.
This position is exempt from civil service.
Work must be performed in-person at the Office of Housing & Community Development, located at 1990 Kino`ole Street, Suite 102, in Hilo, Hawai`i. No virtual option is available. Normal working hours are Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:45am and 4:30pm. Attendance and participation may be required for evening and weekend community events. Reports to the Community Engagement Division Manager.

Examples of Duties
- Oversee the grant application and selection process, ensuring a fair, equitable, competitive, and transparent procedure.
- Monitor progress of grantees and ensure they meet stipulated objectives and deliverables, maintaining regular contact with recipients.
- Participate in the planning and facilitation of a quarterly Community of Practice.
- Assist the team in the development and maintenance of a robust reporting system to evaluate progress, efficiency, and effectiveness of Grant Programs.
- Work closely with supporting organization staff in the management and disbursement of delegated grants processing.
- Manage, maintain, and deliver grant-related reporting for both internal and external constituencies.
- Facilitate communication between grantees, the organization, and relevant stakeholders, providing regular updates on Grant Programs.
- Evaluate existing and evolving technologies and trends in the grant-making field and make recommendations for improvement.
- Other additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to:
- graduation from an accredited college or university with a baccalaureate degree in Business Administration, or a field pertinent to the department's programs and activities, and
- three to five (3-5) years of work experience with nonprofit administration and grant management, and
- prior experience in a management role, and
- familiarity with community engagement programs.
