Job Description
- Works with the Senior Director of Development & Communications to develop corporate sponsorship strategies and solicit event sponsorships.
- Plans, organizes, coordinates, and promotes the organization's Special Events, including the Annual Dinner, Spring Golf Outing, and EAB’s Goose Island Fundraiser.
- Serves as a liaison with vendors on event-related matters such as scheduling and maintaining communication with vendors and participants, coordinating and monitoring event timelines.
- Establishes and meets goals related to Special Events (in terms of attendance and revenue).
- Develop and engage in post-event follow-up to cultivate and steward potential Donor Relationships.
- Work with event consultant(s) as appropriate.
- Creates and oversees special event budgets with support from the Senior Director of Development & Communications.
- Manages annual giving program solicitations for the organization's annual fund.
- Develops and executes strategies for individual, congregational, and corporate giving including mail, phone and personal solicitations.
- Manage relationships and portfolios in partnership with Senior Director of Development & Communications and Executive Director.
- Cultivate and maintain ongoing relationships with donors with a clear and achievable solicitation and stewardship strategy through participation in all aspects of the gift cycle:
- Initiate contacts and meet with existing and potential donors.
- Move potential donors in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Conduct solicitations, when appropriate.
- Maintain stewardship contacts with donors, demonstrate positive attitude, ethical standards and sensitivity to the needs of the donors.
- Coordinates other donor events as necessary to support overall fundraising or special initiatives, campaigns, etc.
- Oversees the production and mailing of direct mail and online campaigns/appeals.
- Maintain accurate records of all donor communications in Neon.
- Performs other job-related duties as required and/or assigned.
Requirements:
- Work experience in nonprofit setting preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, or similar skill required; or a minimum of two years’ experience in nonprofit development.
- 1-3 years of progressively successful development experience, preferably in a community-based nonprofit organization.
- Demonstrated fundraising ability and success.
- Familiarity with orchestration and implementation of Special Events.
- Possession of strong organizational and communication skills is essential.
- Demonstrates the following qualities: self-motivated; self-directed.
- Positive, outgoing personality.
- Standard office equipment and software. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of databases is a plus.
- Strong contributor in team environments; ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Compensation of $24.03 - 26.44 / hourly based on experience.
