VACANCY - SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER | NON-PUBLIC PROPORTIONATE SHARE SERVICES
District 207 is seeking applicants for a Special Education Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year to provide equitable services to parentally-placed non-public school students with disabilities who attend private schools located within the district's resident boundaries. The District 207 employee will provide services as a member of the 207 Education Association at the local non-public parochial school(s) located within the district's resident boundary. QUALIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES
The successful candidate will be an experienced individual who possesses a combination of the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with LBS I endorsement
- Proven experience in Special Education or a related field
- Independent working skills in various settings (e.g. Private, Parochial, Homeschool)
- Experience with online learning platforms
- Knowledge of interventions for social-emotional and executive functioning needs
- Experience in creating IEPs and ISPs and using academic data
- General knowledge of Special Education regulations, policies, and procedures
- Strong collaboration, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Commitment to inclusive education
DUTIES:
The successful candidate will be an experienced individual who can perform a combination of the following:
- Develop and maintain Individual Services Plans (ISPs) based on district supports agreed upon at the Timely Meaningful Consultation
- Collaborate with the District LEA and Director of Special Education on the implementation of processes and procedures for students accessing services through Proportionate Share
- Creating and sustaining a classroom climate conducive to learning
- Collaboratively creating, implementing, and assessing individualized lesson plans for various subject areas
- Differentiating a general education curriculum to meet individual needs
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Staying current with educational applications of technology for instruction and integrating within the classroom
- Maintain positive leadership and role modeling for staff and students
- Initiate and/or participate in problem-solving
