The Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES is looking for full-time certified Special Education Teacher to teach students in grades 3-5 in our 6-1-2 Autism Program. This position is located in the Jordan-Elbridge School District. We are looking for someone to start immediately. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Apply today!
In this program:
- Student are diagnosed with Autism or related disorder(s).
- The program utilizes the TEACCH model that provides a clearly organized structure and modified environment with an emphasis on visual learning modalities.
- Students require intensive interventions and supports to manage their behavior.
- The curriculum is modified for each individual student.
- This program assists students with communication skills, self-regulation skills, self-help skills, daily living skills and other individualized learning targets.
- Desired Outcomes: Regents / Local Diploma, CDOS Commencement Credential or Skills and Achievement Commencement Credential (SACC) if a student is NYSAA eligible.
The candidate must have, or should soon be eligible for NYS Certification in Students with Disabilities.
