JOB SUMMARY
School Psychologists support students’ learning, social development, and mental and behavioral health using problem solving, assessment, data-based decision-making, and the delivery of evidenced-based interventions. School psychologists collaborate and consult with educators, families and other professionals to help create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments for all students.
Reports to: Executive Director of Special Education
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Contacts classroom teachers and parents once a referral for evaluation has been received.
- Meet with parents of students referred for evaluation and develops a social and medical history of that individual students.
- Investigates individual student’s backgrounds, medical history and classroom concerns.
- Remains current regarding latest testing measurements, research, and initiatives in the field of education assessments and evaluations.
- Administers evaluations and provides a written report on individual students within the timelines established by state and federal law.
- Establishes rapport with building staff, students, and parents in order to provide the best possible evaluation of individual students.
- Conducts systematic observations of students experiencing behavioral and academic problems.
- Obtains required releases and contacts therapists or other service agencies as needed once students are being evaluated.
- Adhere to all timelines expressed by Article 7.
- Participate as a member of school educational planning teams, building based problem solving teams, and staffing teams to develop assistance for at-risk students.
- Other miscellaneous duties, as assigned by administration.
Qualifications Requirements:
- Indiana Licensure as a School Psychologist
- Thorough knowledge of IDEA / Article 7
- Previous experience as a School Psychologist preferred but not required
- Effective spoken and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail and accuracy of information
- Ability to work with teams, either as a leader or participant
- The position covers multiple school buildings and sites and requires use of personal vehicles for travel with mileage reimbursement.

SALARY RANGE: $53,000-$66,000
EVALUATION: The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the MCSC’s policy on certified staff evaluation.
