This position serves students in grades K-12 with significant social emotional and mental health needs in a separate school environment.
We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our LPS Family! This person will be responsible for providing individual and/or small group instructional strategies, under the indirect supervision of licensed staff, to students with intensive social emotional needs in a separate school environment. Also responsible for generalizing knowledge and training for all students; making independent decisions within appropriate parameters; implementing team designed behavior support plans; following health care action plans; fostering independence by teaching functional life skills; monitoring and supporting students during special activities, preparing and modifying instructional materials; collecting data for IEP goals and behavior plans, monitoring and providing feedback on student progress, maintaining student confidentiality and adapting to changes in responsibilities and schedules.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION:

7.0 hours per day at the Nova Center
Work Year Calendar - 181 days
Salary Grade 7 at $23.23 per hour.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION:
- High School diploma
- Associate degree or equivalent advanced training or demonstrated knowledge and ability to assist in instruction of reading, writing, math or in school readiness skills.
- Criminal background check required for hire.
- CPR and First Aid certifications required within 3 months after hire.
- Nationally recognized crisis training prevention required within 3 months of hire.
- Medication administration class required within 3 months of hire.

- Oral and written communication skills.

- Basic knowledge of behavioral supports and strategies.
