JOB GOAL: To assist the teacher in providing education and instruction to the students

EVALUATION: Evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the district's Personnel Evaluation Policy
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

PRESCHOOL SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAPROFESSIONAL ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- High school diploma
- Some college or experience
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, but not required

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Consistent and punctual "on site" attendance at the worksite is an essential job function
- Works cooperatively with teaching team to provide quality instruction and supervision
- Uses positive forms of communication with children in the classroom
- Assists the teacher by observing and supervising classroom activities
- Provides one-on-one and group instruction as directed by the classroom teacher
- Demonstrates confidentiality
- Assembles materials to be used in a particular unit
- Helps in the care of the classroom including sanitizing classroom toys and materials
- Interacts with children during play by expanding on vocabulary and social skills
- Supports the teacher by documenting objective observation notes
- Assist with inventory of supplies and equipment
- Assists with field trips
- Other duties as assigned by the Classroom Teacher or Preschool Principal
OTHER REQUIREMENTS (Intellectual, Sensory):
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Skills in human relations and leadership
- Auditory and visual skills
PRESCHOOL SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAPROFESSIONAL ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) in the state of Nebraska in order to transport students on District Special Education busses
- Follow through on the expected bus route time schedule for students
- Follow all safety protocols required by the District transportation department
