Special Education Homeschool Teacher - Davenport

We are seeking an experienced Special Education teacher to meet the unique needs of homeschool students. We are a private education provider, serving a wide range of students. This part-time teaching position involves working in-person with primary grade students in need of direct instruction on core subjects, such as reading, writing, and math. All instruction is 1-on-1, for maximum impact and individualization.

This role requires in-person teaching during daytime hours in Davenport, FL. Experience working with young students on the autism spectrum is a must.

As an Avenue Teacher you have the autonomy to make this position your own. The schedule is flexible, based on your availability and location. We have 1 student currently waitlisted and ready to start immediately. You may take on additional students as you like.

Responsibilities

- Must be able to travel to student's home in Davenport, FL 1-3 times per week.

- Review curriculum and plan lessons

- Accommodate and support special needs of unique learners

- Build positive relationships with students

- Communicate with parents

- Complete teaching logs and progress reports

Qualifications

In order to provide high quality instruction for our students, we require a minimum bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. A valid teaching certification is preferred.

Applicants must have experience working with any of the following: grades pre-K-2, kindergarten, Special Education, autism spectrum disorder, or communication disorders.

Punctuality and reliability are very important, as you will be keeping regular appointments with families. Being organized and a good communicator will serve you well in this role.

Pay: $35.00 per hour
