Our mission is to promote, protect, and advocate for the legal and human rights of all people with disabilities, and to assist them with full inclusion in home, community, education, and employment.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Children’s Team is charged with handling issues related to people with disabilities under the age of 21. Issues may include education or healthcare problems.
The person in this position will work with clients in the public school setting to advocate for appropriate services. This position will involve some in-state travel. All candidates may be subjected to a background check prior to or after hiring.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Advocate for children under the age of 22.
- Represent client according to DRMS goals and priorities
- Do research on topics as assigned by the supervisor.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or human services field. (prefer Master’s degree)
2. Five years of experience working with people with disabilities, preferably in the Special Education area.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
4. Complete background check
5. Ability to work cooperatively with all staff
