As a Space Situational Awareness Expert at Skyline, you’ll be supporting all aspects of the space-Situational Awareness portfolio. You’ll work to understand your clients’ needs and provide them with the right systems for their mission. This is located in Chantilly, VA to support customers in the DC-metro area. This position is 100% onsite work.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Resident expert in Space Situational Awareness techniques and methods
- Model and develop requirements for space-based systems in the Space Situational Awareness domain
- Identify analytic techniques and approaches for Space Situational Awareness in multiple sensing technology domains.
- Identify and mitigate program risks for satellite design and build
- Guide customers on design, performance, and operations for new and proposed space-based SSA systems
- Support program managers and lead engineers
- Document findings, create risk assessments, write performance trade studies
- Create and present technical briefings and presentations
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Active TOP SECRET/SCI with Poly : This position requires a security clearance, which is issued by the US government—U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Remote Sensing, Astronomy, Physics, Mathematics, Communications Engineering, Electrical or Optical Engineering or related technical engineering subject
- 10+ years of experience in technical or programmatic experience in at least one of the following: Space Situational Awareness analysis, satellite design or build, test and evaluation, communication architectures, or systems engineering.
- Experience in teams that engage with varying technical experts across multiple domains
- Experience with Space Situational Awareness mission area
- Must be able to work independently and with a team.
- Willingness and ability to travel to customer locations, primarily in the US. (10-25% travel requirement)
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- MS or PhD degree in Aerospace, Remote Sensing, Astronomy, Physics, Mathematics, Communications Engineering, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related technical engineering subject
- Systems Engineering or Program Management experience
- Experience with space-based systems that includes experience in system development, acquisition, or operation
- Knowledge of the DoD acquisition lifecycle gained through time in a systems program office, DoD laboratory or test organization, or other DoD acquisition-related organization
- Awareness of commercial and space based assets currently deployed for SSA applications

Pay: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
