Space Planner / Junior Designer
Responsibilities:
the Space Planner/designer position at Rieke Office Interiors works closely with the sales account managers to meet the client's needs creatively and effectively, both through the furniture and general design considerations. The designer is required to complete drawings, create the quote derived from both furniture specs and new product, and tie it all together in a professional package for the client's use. Projects range from simple chair quotes to million-dollar offices, from new spaces to reconfigures, and from simple block plans to full-design scopes.
Required Skills
Bachelor's Degree
Knowledge of AutoCAD preferred
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to utilize problem solving skills
Time and organizational management skills required
Knowledge of building codes/general clearances required
Ability to communicate effectively both internally and with clients is required
Weekly / Monthly Tasks:
- Work on projects daily
- Create client quotes
- Working in a CAD environment to space plan furniture
- Uses Microvellum to specify the Rieke Product
- Specifies soft seating, accessories, and other commercial products
- Creates client presentations
- Attend meetings with account managers on a daily basis to receive job information
- Attend vendor meetings/ROI University for continued knowledge/job growth
- Attend daily production meeting
- Double check orders before they move to production/order entry
- Turn in orders and verify all information is correct
- Verify field measure paperwork to ensure furniture will fit correctly
- Assist sales by selecting finishes (for soft seating, Rieke product) when required/asked
- Coordinate custom job requirements with Production Manager to ensure product is priced correctly
- Attend bi-weekly/monthly design meetings, on full design scope projects, work closely with senior designers to ensure the client's needs are being met.
