Job description

SAIC is seeking a Space Operations Analyst to provide support to the United States Space Force (USSF) Headquarters Space Operations Command, located at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colorado

This position provides space control research and analysis to existing operational programs and the integration of future programs/concepts, including ground and space segment analysis in support of all headquarters functions such as operations, requirements, force development, and the Planning Programming Budgeting and Execution Program Objective Memorandum process.  

Fun stuff you will do on the job:

  • Integrate and assess analysis on adversary capabilities and impact to current and future operational programs
  • Serve as a subject matter expert supporting USSF HQ SpOC positions on the Space Control Mission Area Team and various other community meetings
  • Coordinate with internal/external organizations such as Space Warfighting Analysis Center, Space Security and Defense Program, USSF Pentagon Elements, USSF Operational Units, Combatant Commands, Intelligence Community, and various research and development organizations
  • Support development of the Program Objective Memorandum inputs to the Office of the Secretary of Defense concerning resource allocation needs to meet service goals
  • Provide strategic planning and operational support for the execution of USSF Wargames
  • Analyze policy, strategies, doctrine, law, regulations in support of mission operations

This is you:

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant program of study and five (5) years or more experience related to or with the:
    • Space Operations Command, Space Security and Defense Program, Combatant Commands and Intelligence Community
    • Space Control mission area expertise in operations, operational planning and execution
    • Joint Capability Integration and Development System (JCIDS)
    • Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE)
  • Must have an in-scope background investigation (SSBI/T5) and the ability to obtain Sensitive Compartment Information and Special Access Program accesses as well as be willing to consent to a polygraph examination

  • Advanced degree in a relevant program of study
  • Previous experience and, or familiarity with the following:
  • Space Control Operational Unit Experience
  • Air Force Space Command (Space Operations Command predecessor)
  • Combatant Command Planning and Operations
  • Operational Planning (OPLAN, CONPLAN development)
  • Operational support within the Intelligence Community (e.g., the National Reconnaissance Office)
