Spa Director

Immediate opportunity for an experienced Spa Director looking to lead a talented team in a new luxury spa at Keswick Hall and Club. The Keswick Spa opened in September 2022 with eight beautifully appointed rooms and uses cutting edge organic ingredients synergistically combine with advanced technologies to deliver optimal results in a highly individualized manner.

History and spectacular landscapes come together, at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Celebrated landmarks, including Thomas Jefferson's Monticello and the University of Virginia, are clustered here among swathes of the East Coast's most beautiful scenery. The region is also home to over 25 wineries, breweries and cideries.

This is the setting for Keswick Hall, an impressive 80-room luxury boutique hotel nestled on 600 acres which recently re-opened in 2021 after renovations. Home to the prestigious Keswick Golf Club, Marigold Restaurant, by Jean-Georges, a new luxury spa and sports and aquatics center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Always demonstrate sincere customer focus and true appreciation for the guest experience.
2. Partner with Retail and Wellness Specialist to develop and maintain retail product program.
3. Ensure all dealings with guests in the spa and fitness areas meet or exceed the hotels operating standards.
4. Ensure all areas of the Spa are kept clean and well maintained at all times.
5. Ensure compliance with all legislation governing the operation of a Spa facility.
6. Ensure the guest experience is relaxing and in accordance with the hotel's standards.
7. Ensure the health and safety of guests and employees are paramount at all times.
8. Ensure consistent Spa experience development to ensure that innovation and uniqueness is maintained.
9. Ensure proper inventories of all operating Spa equipment are conducted in line with audit standards in order to effectively manage operational cost.
10. Ensure that all stock and cash items are kept safely under lock and key.
11. Implement and monitor up-selling strategies to maximize spa and fitness operational revenue.
12. Analyze and interpret the needs of clients and offer appropriate options, solutions and resolutions.
13. Serve as the single point of contact for Dignitaries, VIP and VVIP guests and co-ordinate their Spa experience.
14. Responsible for checking and overseeing all guest settlements like cash, CC, room settlements etc.
15. Responsible to identify and target specific market segments for potential corporate clientele to promote Spa services.
16. Responsible for reviewing all guest feedback results and implementing improvements to ensure guest satisfaction.
17. Responsible for accurate and timely payroll submission.
18. Coordinate with Accounting to ensure accurate and timely coding and payment of invoices.
19. Coordinate with the engineering department to ensure proper repair and preventive maintenance works of all spa equipment.
20. Prepare annual budget and business Plan to ensure Spa operation is adequately represented.
21. Manage spa inventory effectively, and follow hotels purchasing standards to ensure audit compliance.
22. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

The qualifications listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

KNOWLEDGE

Must possess knowledge of and passion for the Spa and Fitness world.

Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite.

Strong working knowledge of Spa, Membership and recreational software.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Demonstrated strong leadership, team, and communication skills are essential.

Excellent knowledge of English language.

Communication and customer service skills.

Positive attitude.

SUPERVISION

Position functions semi-autonomously. Position directly supervises employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration, Hotel/ Hospitality management or related field and 3-5 years of Spa Management experience in a luxury hotel. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

Certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED
