Summary of Responsibility

• Assemble semi-pneumatic tires, understand Boms, and other duties as assigned
• Understands how to operate all stations within the assembly process
• Follow the Standard work for each process
• Inspect tires to identify defects and scrap and package tires
• Use tools safely and efficiently (i.e. torque gun)
• Understand and use hour by hour and heijunka boards in daily production
• Detect and report faulty operation, defective, and/or unusual material conditions
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Understands and follows all safety rules associated with the job.
• Explains and uses lean tools on the job as necessary such as 5S, kanbans, standard work, hour-by-hour boards, and heijunka board.
• Demonstrates the ability to perform required quality checks
• Demonstrates ability to read and understand Standard Work.
• Performs any other duties as necessary

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

• High School diploma/GED required, or commit to obtain a GED with Carlstar sponsored GED program within 12 months of hire date
• Must be willing to work any shift and overtime
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid forklift license
• Ability to obtain and maintain overhead crane licensure
• Basic math skills
• Reading comprehension skills
• Ability to move and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time

Highly desired skills, knowledge, and experience

• Previous manufacturing experience
• Experience in lean, kaizen, and high performance work team
