JOB DESCRIPTION - NURSE ASSISTANT TRAINEE
JOB SUMMARY
Train to assist nursing personnel in provision of basic care for residents and perform necessary unit tasks. Function in compliance with facility policies and procedures, applicable health care standards and MS State Department of Health guidelines. Function as a member of the health care team under the direct supervision of the RN or LPN, and report to the nursing supervisor in conformity with facility and regulatory policy.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must be at least 18 years of age
2. High School Graduate or GED
3. Must be able to work Full Time 12 hour shifts
4. Must be up-to-date on all immunizations.
5. Must be vaccinated for Covid or have approved accommodation.

Must have physical ability to perform job-related duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations when applicable, which may require lifting, standing, bending, transferring, stooping, stretching, walking, pushing and pulling
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ ASSIGNED TASKS
1. The individual enrolled in the Nurse Assistant Training Program (NATP) will receive training and competency evaluation as listed on the Nurse Aide Training Schedule and Skills Checklist.
2. Upon successful completion of the program, the Nurse Assistant will work under the supervision of an LPN or RN to:
a. Provide person-centered care and assistance with all activities of daily living
b. Communicate and interact therapeutically with residents and families
c. Assist residents in attaining and maintaining maximal functional independence
d. Protect, support and promote the rights of residents
e. Demonstrate appropriate knowledge for safe use of medical equipment
f. Maintain safe and organized work operation by following policies and procedures
